Maurice F Prout




Maurice Prout, Ph.D., is a psychologist who has taught doctoral level graduate students on a full time basis for over 30 years. He is a full Professor and Director of the Respecialization Program at Widener University.

Dr. Prout has co-authored more than 35 works including books, book chapters and articles. His clinical interests and publications have included topics related to the diagnosis and treatment of various anxiety and mood disorders as well as areas related to behavioral medicine.

In addition to the above Dr. Prout has functioned as an expert witness in tort litigation cases involving psychological injury. He has also worked with various departments within the government of the City of Philadelphia conducting stress management workshops. He has served on the Institutional Review Board at the university and was a Governor’s appointee to the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology and the Vietnam Veterans Health Initiative Commission.

Dr. Prout is a member of the National Register, a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology and a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. He has presented to the American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association, Society for Behavioral Medicine, Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration and National Academy of Neuropsychology.
